It is with sadness, but eternal hope that the family of
Hector Pellerin of Shediac announce his passing early Christmas
morning. Hector’s faith in God was the foundation of his
life and was evident in his devotion to his family and the community
of Shediac.
Hector will be deeply missed by
all. His love for people was apparent in his capacity for empathy in
every circumstance. He was able to navigate any situation with a joie
de vivre and witty sense of humour that was uniquely Hector. He had a
special twinkle in his eyes.
Hector was a devoted member of Saint Joseph’s
church in Shediac. He faithfully served as a Knight of Columbus and on
various church committees. Hector and his late wife, Claudette were
extraordinary examples of being the hands and feet of Jesus. They left
amazing legacies of faith, love, and service.
Hector was so proud of his home community of Shediac. He was a
loyal townie for 84 years. He volunteered for countless committees and
events over the years. Hector’s friendly hospitality and
warm hugs will leave an irreplaceable void in the community.
Hector worked as the purchaser for Surette
Pharmacy. After his retirement from the pharmacy, he worked as a
custodian at LJR High School.
Hector was an
outdoorsman who loved fishing, hunting, and gardening. In later years,
he became ‘head chef’ at the hunting camp.
Hector is survived by his sweetheart, Florine
Léger; two sons: Pierre (Tasha) and Charles (Jackie); three
brothers: Edgar (Lorette), Napoleon, and Robert (Joan) all of Shediac;
four cherished grandchildren: Drew, Josée, Gabrielle, and
Jill.
He was predeceased in 2011 by his
beloved wife of 43 years, Claudette (Melanson). He was also
predeceased by two sisters: Barbara Boudreau and Anna Roy; four
brothers: Yvon, Léo, Francis, and Eddy.
The family will receive condolences at Frenette Funeral and
Cremation Centre, 396 Main Street, Shediac (506-532-3297) on Thursday
December 28th from 1 to 4 pm only. The funeral
mass will be celebrated at St-Joseph Roman Catholic Church, 415 Main
Street, Shediac on Friday December 29th at 2
pm. Interment will be in the St-Joseph cemetery,
Shediac.
In memory of Hector, a donation to the Vestiaire St-Joseph Inc. or donor’s choice would be appreciated.
