Magdalena MacKay, 90, resident of The Briarlea in Moncton and
formerly of St. Andrews, N.B., Montreal, Que., Toronto, Ont., and
Moncton, N.B., passed away peacefully at The Moncton Hospital on
Wednesday January 12, 2022. Born in Winterthur, Switzerland,
she was the daughter of the late Josef Holbein and Magdalena
Kägi-Florin.
She is survived by two daughters: Heidi MacKay and Ann MacKay
(John Drummond); five grandchildren: Trevor, Tyler, Kristen,
Lana and Nicole; one sister, Gertrude Holbein; and five nieces and
nephews: Pierre Crot (Florence), Christine Trolliet (Andres), Urs
Holbein (Wendy), Marc Holbein (Susanne), and Rolff Holbein
(Valérie).
She was predeceased by her husband, Ian MacKay; and one
brother, Emil Holbein.
In accordance to her wishes, there will be no visitation and
no funeral service. Private Celebrations of Life may be organized in a
few months. Current arrangements are in the professional
care of Frenette Funeral and Cremation Centre, Moncton
