Charles De Freitas, 98, of Shediac and formerly of Scoudouc, passed away on Sunday January 9, 2022, at the Dr. Georges-L. Dumont UHC. Born in Dutch Guyana, he was the son of the late Jacinto and Jacqueline (Morpurgo) De Freitas.

He is survived by his wife, Rita (Boudreau); one brother, Gerry of Calgary, AB, as well as many nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by four brothers: Maurice, John, Bazil and Roland.

The family will receive condolences at Frenette Funeral and Cremation Centre, 396 Main Street, Shediac (532-3297) where the funeral service will be celebrated on Wednesday February 23, 2022, at 4 pm. Visiting hours are Wednesday from 2 pm until time of funeral. Face covering is mandatory, proof of vaccination and government issued identification card are required to enter the funeral centre, and social distancing is in effect.The funeral service will be streamed live; to view the funeral, go to his obituary on our website. Interment will be in the Saint-Jacques-le-Majeur in Scoudouc.
