It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Jean-Claude Belliveau, 89, of Shediac, on Friday October 9, 2026, at the Dr. Georges-L.-Dumont UHC. Born in Shediac, he was the son of the late Léo and Juliette (LeBlanc) Belliveau.

He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Annette (Boudreau); three children: Andrée Belliveau (late Rodolphe), Sophie Belliveau-Doiron (Shane) and Julie Belliveau (Jean-Pierre Cormier); six grandchildren: Nikos (Marie-Gabrielle), Yannick (Jolaine), Dax, Diego, Annie and Jérôme; five siblings: Roland (Denise), Laure O’Brien (late Francis), Rose-Marie LeBlanc (late Roger ‘Zeke’),  Nicole Thibodeau (late Hector) and Pierre (late Janet); several sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law; as well as many nieces and nephews.

Besides his parents, he was predeceased by one sister, Rhéa Belliveau; and one brother, Donald.

Jean-Claude had a zest for life and always enjoyed making the people around him laugh including on the day of his passing. He cherished his love Annette, his children and grandchildren with all of his heart. He was a mentor and cheerleader for his family and someone you could always count on. He believed that there was always a solution to any problem and vigorously practiced the motto to "never give up" in his everyday life.

In his professional life, he was a teacher and administrator at the New Brunswick Community College in Moncton for 35 years.  He also had a keen business sense from a young age. He was the owner of Ocean Surf Campground and RV Park from 1964 to 2025. He absolutely enjoyed spending time at the campground and formed long lasting friendships with many seasonal clients.

The funeral mass will be celebrated at St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church, Shediac, on Friday October 16 at 2 pm. In accordance with his wishes, there will be no visitation. Jean-Claude’s final resting place will be at Frenette Columbarium in Shediac. In memory of Jean-Claude, a contribution to the Maison Providence would be appreciated.
