Guilman (Gilles) Emond, 90, of Moncton and formerly of Campbellton, passed away on Monday September 7, 2026 at the Dr. Georges-L.-Dumont UHC in Moncton. Born in Rivière-Bleue, QC, he was the son of the late Antoine Emond and Alice Dupont.

In 1990, Gilles retired after working 36 years for Canadian National and Via Rail.

He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Marguerite (Arsenault); his children: Benoît (Jocelyne Beaupré), Ginette Emond, Hélène (David Petrie), François (Linda LeBlanc) and Jean (Lise Breau); as well as 10 grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. He was the last surviving member of his immediate family.

Besides his parents, he was predeceased by two grandchildren: Marie-France Emond and Codey Branch, his brother Valen, his sister Yvette, his half-sister Jeanne and his half-brother Marjorique.

The family will receive condolences at Frenette Funeral and Cremation Centre, 88 Church Street, Moncton (506-858-1900) where the funeral service will be celebrated on Friday October 23 at 3 pm. Visiting hours are Friday October 23 from 1:30 pm until time of funeral. The funeral service will be streamed live; to view the funeral, go to Guilman’s obituary on the Frenette Website. Interment will be at Notre-Dame-des-Neiges cemetery in Campbellton. In memory of Guilman, a contribution to a charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated.
