Marcel Willie Niles, 72, went peacefully to his eternal home on September 23, 2026, after a brief battle with lung cancer.  He was the son of the late David Niles and Aline (Lina) Niles.

Marcel was the beloved husband of Norma Bourque Niles, his best friend and the love of his life. He loved his family dearly and was deeply grateful for the special bond he shared with each of them.  He is also survived by his brother, Maurice (Hélène); his nephews: Paul, Samuel, François, and their partners; his great-nephews and nieces: Chelsea, Madison, Xander, and Xavier. His relationship with Norma’s children and grandchildren also held a special place in his heart and his devoted little dog Kako.

Marcel retired at the age of 60 after a dedicated career working in the fish and seafood industry.

A man of strong faith, Marcel was a loving husband, brother, uncle, and friend. Wise, humble, kind, patient, and generous, he believed deeply in the power of forgiveness. A true lover and connoisseur of music, Marcel found joy in the simple things in life. He spent many peaceful hours at the wharf reading his Bible, watching the sunset, and sitting quietly in reflection. He will be fondly remembered by his coffee buddies, who cherished his friendship and conversations.

Marcel leaves behind many happy memories and a legacy of love for those privileged to know him.

As per Marcel’s wishes, there will be no visitations and no funeral, there will be a private prayer service at the parish cemetery later in October.

In memory of Marcel, a contribution to the a charity of the donor`s choice would be appreciated by the family.
