It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our cherished Chris Newell, son, grandson, brother, uncle, nephew and cousin.
Chris Newell, 60, passed away on September 7, 2026 at Albert House of Hospice SENB in Moncton, NB, with his loving significant other, Yvonne Bourgeois, by his side. Chris was born in Hamilton, Ontario, to the late Robert Newell and Betty.
Chris was a fun, charismatic man, loved by his family and friends. He made it a priority to be there for his Dad and family for many gatherings and holiday dinners. Christmas, Easter, Thanksgiving in particular, as well as birthdays, were a great opportunity for Chris to show his generous spirit. Yvonne and Chris provided the food and cooked for his father’s holiday celebrations, which his family is eternally grateful for.
He had a zest for life that included many hobbies. Passionate about music and golf, he also loved playing pool with his Dad and friends. Other interests included darts and his favorite Xbox game, Wreckfest. One of his defining chapters began the day he rescued his beloved cat, TC. With an open heart, he brought TC home, turning a street-weary stray into a cherished family member. They truly loved each other. Chris was also an active participant in the "Rant Line" with the local radio station, Rock 103.1 FM.
Chris is survived by his significant other Yvonne Bourgeois, his sister Krystal Biehler (Ken), his brother Brian Newell (nephew Teddy), aunt Glenna Richardson, uncle David Newell (Jean), cousin Patti Newell Wohner (Michael), cousin Will Newell (Shannon), cousin Troy Richardson (Michele) and cousin Toby Richardson Carr (Charles).
Chris was predeceased by his father Robert Newell, aunt Beth Newell (Chris Friis), and uncle David Richardson (Glenna).
Chris will be remembered at Hospice SENB’s Annual Candlelight Memorial Service held on Tuesday, November 17, 2026, at 7 pm at the Riverview Lions Club, 701 Coverdale Road, Riverview. Family and friends are warmly invited to gather, share memories, pictures and celebrate Chris’s life.
