It is with sadness that we announce the passing of
Simonne Léger, 89, of Moncton on Friday September 4, 2026,
at the Albert House of Hospice SENB. Born in Moncton, she was the
daughter of the late Jean-Baptiste and Jeanne (Bastarache) Surette,
her biological parents; she was adopted by the late Adélard
and Anne (Bourque) Surette.
She was raised surrounded by her brothers and sister,
learning early the meaning of family, devotion, and love. Throughout
her life, she cared for her adopted mother while raising and
supporting her own family, giving generously of herself to those she
loved.
She was deeply loved by her husband and best friend.
Together, they shared a lifetime of memories, companionship, and
unwavering devotion. She treasured the times when everyone was
together, finding her greatest happiness in the laughter, warmth, and
closeness of family.
She also had a special love for the many animals that
the kids brought home, each one stealing a special corner of her
heart
For her children, she always wanted the very best.
Her careful advice came from a wanting to protect them, so they knew
they were cherished and loved
She will be remembered for her generous heart, her
devotion to family, and the love she gave so
freely.
She was loved beyond words and will be deeply missed
by all who knew and loved her.
A special thank you to the staff and volunteers at
the Albert House of Hospice SENB for the wonderful care Simonne
