Maria Bernard, 86, of Moncton, passed away on Sunday August 30, 2026 at Albert House of Hospice SENB, following a courageous battle with cancer. Born in Moncton, she was the daughter of the late Willie and Eva (Arsenault) Doiron.

She is survived by her husband of 68 years, André; five children: Denis (Janice) of Shediac, Paulette Chavarie (Laurie) and Rachel Bernard, both of Moncton, Janice Richard (Charles) of Notre-Dame and Carole Hachey of Saint-Antoine; eight grandchildren: Pierre, Natalie, Mathieu, Sylvie, Mélanie, Joel, Liette and Allain; seven great-grandchildren: Chloe, Sarah, Alexandre, Amélie, Ella, Naïka and Élodie; five sisters: Helene LeBlanc (late Gillie), Sylvia Gallant (Gérald), and Evelyn Doiron (Robert Léger), all of Moncton, Angèle Bourque (late Gérald) of Dieppe and Lucille Arsenault (Gérard) of Notre-Dame; three brothers: Sylvère (Anne-Marie) of Saint-Antoine, Valérie (Jeannine) and Alyre (Thérèse), both of Moncton; one sister-in-law, Diane Doiron of Leominster, USA; one brother-in-law, Delphin Thébeau of Moncton; as well as several nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents, she was predeceased by two sisters: Bernice (Omer Leger) and Irma; two brothers: Gérald and Roger (Rita).

The family will receive condolences at Frenette Funeral and Cremation Centre, 88 Church Street, Moncton (506-858-1900) where the funeral service will be celebrated on Thursday September 3 at 11 am. Visiting hours are Wednesday from 6 to 9 pm only. The funeral service will be streamed live; to view the funeral, go to Maria’s obituary on the Frenette Website. Interment will be in Adamsville. In memory of Maria, a contribution to Hospice SENB (Albert House) would be appreciated.
