On Tuesday, August 18, 2026, Yvonne Brun, 102, of Shediac, passed away peacefully at her residence, surrounded by her family. Born in Amherst, NS, she was the daughter of the late Alphée and Marguerite (Atkinson) Bourque.

Yvonne was a very loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother. Her family meant everything to her.

Besides spending time with her family, her favorite pastimes included quilting, sewing, canning, and cooking.

Yvonne will be sadly missed by her two daughters: Anne-Marie Dupuis (Bernard) of Memramcook, and Rachel Doiron of Shediac; her five sons: Ronald (Jacinthe) of Cormier-Village, Alvin (Lilianne) of Shediac, Jerry (Evryn) of Riverview, Gordon (Estelle) of Barachois, and Eddie (Aline) of Cormier-Village; her grandchildren: Nathalie, Stéphane, Ghislaine, Tammy, Monique, Roland, Michelle, Nadine, Mathieu, Jason, Jolaine and Kevin; twenty-one great-grandchildren; as well as two great-great-grandchildren.

Besides her parents, Yvonne was predeceased by her husband, Gérard (2000); her grandson, Christian; as well as her siblings: Fred Burke, Ralston Burke, Arthur Burke, Louise Angevine and Annie Richard.

The family will receive condolences at Frenette Funeral Centre, 396 Main Street, Shediac, on Wednesday, August 19, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., and Thursday, August 20, from 1 p.m. to 1:45 p.m. The funeral service will follow at 2 p.m. at St. Joseph’s Church in Shediac. Yvonne will be laid to rest in Ste-Thérèse-d’Avila Cemetery in Cap-Pelé with her husband.

In Yvonne’s memory, a donation to the Beauséjour Family Crisis Resource Centre in Shediac or to a charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated.
