Donna Gates, 60, of Dieppe, passed away on Tuesday August 11, 2026 at the Dr. Georges-L.-Dumont UHC, Moncton. Born in Ontario and raised in Amherst, she was the daughter of James Gates and the late Eleanor Melanson and she was raised by Phyllis Gates whom she considered her mom.

Besides her father, she is survived by her siblings: Tristan, Jaimie, and Donnie; her half-siblings: Patrick and Mary-Lou; as well as many nieces and nephews.

The family would like to thank the nurses and staff of the dialysis unit at the Dr. Georges-L.-Dumont UHC for the exceptional care and compassion given to Donna during her illness. A special thank you to all the staff of Mazerolle Special Care Home for taking such great care of Donna while she was a resident.

As per her wishes, there will be no visitation at the funeral centre and no funeral service. In memory of Donna, a contribution to the CHU Dumont (Dialysis unit) would be appreciated.
