It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Kenneth "Ken/Kenny" Douthwright, 69, of Riverview, on Friday July 31, 2026 at The Moncton Hospital. Born in Moncton, he was the son of the late Beulah Herman.

He is survived by his wife of almost 44 years, Jocelyne "Lynn" (Comeau); his three sons: Shawn (Ashley), Mark (Violet) and Jeffrey (Iman); four grandchildren: Aaliyah, Addison, Jessika and Zoe; three sisters: Carolyn Steeves (late Mac), Helen Leger (Paul) and Darlene Wilson (Wade); one brother-in-law, George LeBlanc; his beloved cat, Pinky’s; as well as many nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by one sister, Margaret ‘Margie’ LeBlanc; a nephew, Chris; and his stepfather Don Herman.

Kenny was an amazing husband and dedicated family man who adored his sons, granddaughters, extended family and friends. He was an avid book reader who had books hidden in every corner of the house and in his cars. He could be seen reading leaning against the washer and would easily get side tracked from chores in favor of books. He had a passion for antique cars and motor sports. He looked forward to attending car shows in his Granada as a member of the Codiac Classics Car Club. He and his wife enjoyed traveling and driving along the shore. He loved teaching his grandkids how to bake for every special occasion. All in all, Kenny was an all-around family man who enjoyed life to the fullest

The family will receive condolences at Frenette Funeral and Cremation Centre, 88 Church Street, Moncton (506-858-1900) where the funeral service will be celebrated on Thursday August 6 at 11 am. Visiting hours are Wednesday August 5 from 2 to 4 pm and 7 to 9 pm and Thursday from 10 am until time of funeral. Interment will be at Our Lady of Calvary cemetery in Dieppe. In memory of Kenneth, a contribution to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or a charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated.
