Alvin Basque, 89, of Moncton, passed away on July 22, 2026. Born in Tracadie, he was the son of the late François "Frank" and Elizabeth (Duguay) Basque.

He was the owner of Koko Lunch Restaurant and Bar in Tracadie. Alvin will be remembered for his kindness and for the many cherished memories he leaves with all those who had the privilege of knowing him.

He is survived by his children: Richard, Nathalie, Debbie and Lisa; the mother of his children, Doralice McLaughlin; his sisters: Simone Valiquette, Anne-Marie Basque, Alfreda Saulnier (late Calixte), Murielle Robert (late Guy) and Bernice Curry (Émile); his brothers-in-law: Ron Roberts and Gerald Clément; as well as his grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his brothers and sisters: Gerald, Donat, Raymond, Hector, Emile, Edna and Alma.

In accordance with Alvin’s wishes, there will be no funeral service. A private family ceremony will be held at a later date. Funeral arrangements are in the professional care of Frenette Funeral and Cremation Centre, Moncton (506-858-1900).
