It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Aline (Landry) Blackmore of Shediac, who passed on July 20, 2026, at the age of 91, surrounded by her family. She was the daughter of the late David Bourque and Marie-Louise (Richard) Bourque.

A devoted mother and loving grandmother, Aline dedicated her life to her family, who were always her top priority. A proud woman, she appreciated life’s simple pleasures; card games and bingo nights were among her favorite pastimes. She enjoyed keeping up with current events and, above all, having a good discussion about politics. For her, there was no greater joy than spending her summers at the cottage with the family.

Prior to her retirement, Aline worked at the federal government’s pension centre. Deeply involved in her community, she was an active member of the Women’s Institute; served on the board of directors of the Shediac Co-op for several years, and was a member of the Shediac Athletic Club.

Having overcome many hardships throughout her life, Aline will be remembered as a strong and, above all, a resilient woman.

She is survived by her two daughters: Margot O’Brien (Gerald) of Shediac and Michelle Davis of Dieppe; her sister Cécile Picard; her brother Réal Bourque (Anne) of Shediac; her four beloved grandchildren: Pierre (Melanie), Melanie (Luc), Natasha (Jeremy), and Christine; her four beloved great-grandchildren: Simon, Valerie, Vincent, and Luca; her brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law; and many nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her first husband, Ferdinand Landry; her second husband, Jim Blackmore; her son, Marc; her brothers: Léo, Eugène and Roger; and her sisters: Florence and Anita.

The family wishes to thank the staff of the emergency department at Dr. George-L.-Dumont UHC, as well as Dr. Mélanie Desjardins-Godbout, for their presence and comfort during this difficult time.

In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations to the Vestiaire Saint-Joseph in Shediac.

The family will receive condolences at Frenette Funeral Centre, 396 Main Street, Shediac (506-532-3297), on Sunday July 26, from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m., and from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m., only. The funeral service will be celebrated at 11 a.m. at St. Joseph Church in Shediac, on Monday, July 27.  Interment will be in the parish cemetery.

Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the professional care of Frenette Funeral and Cremation Centre, 396 Main Street, Shediac (506-532-3297).
