At the Dr. Georges-L.-Dumont UHC, on Monday, July 6, 2026, Gérald "Gerry" Bourgeois of Shediac, passed away peacefully at the age of 75.  He was the son of the late Léandre and Yvonne (Belliveau) Bourgeois.

A man with a big heart, who was always ready to lend a helping hand, Gerry was known for his sense of humor and his ability to strike up a conversation with anyone he met. A devoted father, he would have done anything for his children. He loved hunting, camping, cars, playing cards, and taking drives in his convertible.

For many years, he was a school bus driver. He genuinely loved children and always took the time to talk with them and make them laugh.

He is survived by his two children: Martine Kelsey (Justin) of Toronto (ON), and Gilles Bourgeois (Julie) of Cap-Pelé; his siblings: Ronnie (Patricia) of Shediac, Jeannita Cyr (Paul) of Edmundston, Paul-Émile (Louise) and Daniel (Thérèse), both of Moncton; his seven grandchildren: Josiah, Janie, Ghislain, Janelle, Céline, Yannick, and Alexane; as well as two stepsons: Guy Donelle (Nicole) and Bobby Donelle.

Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his beloved wife and the mother of his children, Yolande (2002); his sister, Rose-Marie (late Yvon); his brother, Jean; and Nicole Donelle (2021), his cherished partner for many years, who was a loving grandmother to all of his grandchildren.

The family will receive relatives and friends at Frenette Funeral Centre, 396 Main Street, Shediac (506-532-3297), on Thursday, July 9, only, from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. The funeral service will be held at St. Henri Church in Barachois, on Friday, July 10, at 2 pm. Interment will take place in the parish cemetery.
