It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of
our beloved father, grandfather, husband, brother, and friend, Joseph
Bourgeois, at the age of 89, on Monday July 6, 2026. Born in Moncton,
he was the son of the late Camille and Eva (LeBlanc)
Bourgeois.
Joe is lovingly remembered by his devoted wife, Stella
(Bourque) Bourgeois; his two sons: Guy (Trish McIntyre) and Paul
(Nathalie Godbout-Bourgeois); and his six grandchildren: Stephanie
(Luc Leblanc), Teaghan, Ayden, Quinn, and his cherished grandchildren:
Samuel and Marie-Eve, who predeceased him and remained forever in his
heart.
He was also predeceased by his four sisters: Lorraine
(Francis) Belliveau, Dorina (René) Leblanc, Jacqueline
(Larry) Faudel, and Sylvia (Jacques) Bourque.
Joe dedicated 37 years of service to NB Tel. Following his
retirement, he continued to give back to his community through his
volunteer work with the Telephone Pioneers, an organization he proudly
supported.
Family was the centre of Joe's life. His greatest happiness
came from spending time with those he loved, whether gathered around
the table, celebrating special occasions, or simply enjoying each
other's company.
An avid hockey fan, Joe rarely missed an opportunity to cheer
on the Montreal Canadiens. He was also known for his remarkable
handyman skills, particularly his love of woodworking. Together, Joe
and Stella created many treasured memories while camping by the beach
for more than 35 years.
Joe will be deeply missed and forever remembered for his
unwavering love and devotion to his family and friends. He was always
the first to lend a helping hand, whether it was tackling a home
project, offering advice, or simply being there when someone needed
him. His kindness, generosity, and quiet strength touched the lives of
everyone who knew him.
Our family extends our heartfelt thanks to everyone who stood
by Joe's side during his final days, especially the caring staff at
Faubourg du Pavillon Landry, whose compassion and dedication brought
comfort to both Joe and our family.
We also wish to express our deepest gratitude to Dr. Darren
Martin for his exceptional care, kindness, and unwavering support
throughout the years. His compassion meant more to our family than
words can express.
The family will receive condolences at Frenette Funeral and
Cremation Centre, 88 Church Street, Moncton (506-858-1900) where the
funeral service will be celebrated on Monday July 13 at 3 pm. Visiting
hours are Monday from 1 pm until time of funeral. Interment will be at
Our Lady of Calvary cemetery in Dieppe. In memory of Joseph, a
contribution to Canadian Red Cross would be
appreciated.
