Edgar Clements, 83, of Pointe- du- Chêne, passed away peacefully on Thursday, May 21, 2026 at the Dr. Georges-L-Dumont UHC in Moncton surrounded by all his family. He was the son of the late Thomas and Elizabeth (Poirier) Clements.

Edgar worked at Paturel’s for forty-five years. Following his retirement, he became known as the community handyman, always willing to lend a helping hand. His hobbies included working, softball and being the biggest Habs fan of all time. Edgar was also an avid card player (200). His children, grandchildren and great grandchildren were the love of his life. He was happiest when surrounded by family during annual lobster feasts and countless other suppers and celebrations.

He leaves to mourn his wife of sixty-one years, Eleanor (Smiley); three daughters: Monique Lyman (Monti) of Pointe- du- Chêne, Paula Gould (Gerry) and Karen Clements (Mathoux Matulu), both of Shediac; eight grandchildren: Ashley (Justin), Amanda, Matthew, Amy (Shawn), Tatyana (Saad), Selena (Max), Joachim and Noah; four great-grandchildren: Harper, Gracen, Kelci, Naehl and baby boy Roussel arriving soon; siblings Muriel Clements, Marion (Boyd) Hendrickson, Donald Clements (Jeannine LeBlanc), Charlotte (Leroy) Gallant, Verna Clements, Noreen (Doug) Martin; three sisters-in-law: Carmaine Clements, Lila Clements and Bernice Clements; as well as his two beloved sidekicks: Willow and Whiskey and many nieces and nephews.

Besides his parents, he was predeceased by one sister, Dot (late Bernie) Doiron; four brothers: Reg (late Dorothy), Merle, Allan and Ross; as well as two brothers in infancy.

In keeping with Edgar’s wishes, there will be no visitation. A private funeral service will be held. Interment will be in the Saint-Joseph Cemetery, Shediac. Family and friends are warmly invited to attend a Celebration of Life at the Pointe- du- Chêne Recreation Centre on Thursday, May 28 from 2:30 p.m. until 4:30 p.m., where all who knew and loved Edgar are welcome to gather, share memories and celebrate his life.

Funeral arrangements are under the professional care of Frenette Funeral and Cremation Centre, 396 Main Street, Shediac (506-532-3297).
