Edgar Clements, 83, of Pointe- du- Chêne, passed
away peacefully on Thursday, May 21, 2026 at the Dr. Georges-L-Dumont
UHC in Moncton surrounded by all his family. He was the son of the
late Thomas and Elizabeth (Poirier) Clements.
Edgar worked at Paturel’s for forty-five years.
Following his retirement, he became known as the community handyman,
always willing to lend a helping hand. His hobbies included working,
softball and being the biggest Habs fan of all time. Edgar was also an
avid card player (200). His children, grandchildren and great
grandchildren were the love of his life. He was happiest when
surrounded by family during annual lobster feasts and countless other
suppers and celebrations.
He leaves to mourn his wife of sixty-one years, Eleanor
(Smiley); three daughters: Monique Lyman (Monti) of Pointe- du-
Chêne, Paula Gould (Gerry) and Karen Clements (Mathoux
Matulu), both of Shediac; eight grandchildren: Ashley (Justin),
Amanda, Matthew, Amy (Shawn), Tatyana (Saad), Selena (Max), Joachim
and Noah; four great-grandchildren: Harper, Gracen, Kelci, Naehl and
baby boy Roussel arriving soon; siblings Muriel Clements, Marion
(Boyd) Hendrickson, Donald Clements (Jeannine LeBlanc), Charlotte
(Leroy) Gallant, Verna Clements, Noreen (Doug) Martin; three
sisters-in-law: Carmaine Clements, Lila Clements and Bernice Clements;
as well as his two beloved sidekicks: Willow and Whiskey and many
nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by one sister, Dot
(late Bernie) Doiron; four brothers: Reg (late Dorothy), Merle, Allan
and Ross; as well as two brothers in infancy.
In keeping with Edgar’s wishes, there will be no
visitation. A private funeral service will be held. Interment will be
in the Saint-Joseph Cemetery, Shediac. Family and friends are warmly
invited to attend a Celebration of Life at the Pointe- du-
Chêne Recreation Centre on Thursday, May 28 from 2:30 p.m.
until 4:30 p.m., where all who knew and loved Edgar are welcome to
gather, share memories and celebrate his life.

Frenette Funeral and Cremation Centre, 396 Main Street, Shediac

In memory of Edgar, a donation to Diabetes Canada or to the
Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada would be
