It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of
Hazel Florence Corey, of Dieppe and formerly of Havelock, on Saturday,
April 4, 2026, at The Moncton Hospital.
Hazel worked for many years as a homecare support worker and
was also employed at Ultramar in Dieppe. She found great joy tending
to her flower garden and had a deep love for travel, especially her
cherished trips to Cuba.
She leaves behind her partner of 15 years, Joe; her two
daughters: Christine (Sergio) and Tracy; and her three grandchildren:
Braxton, Nicolas, and Elise. She will also be deeply missed by her
best friends: Stella, Louise, Eugene, and Francine ("Ma");
her brother and sisters (one of her sister, Sandra, she raised as her
own daughter); her beloved dog, China Baby; her extended family in
Cuba; and her Cuban dogs, Miki and Lolita; as well as by many nieces
and nephews.
Hazel was predeceased by her two sisters: Joanne and Linda;
her mother-in-law, Lorraine Noël; her grandmother, Elise
Richard; a very good friend Emery; and also by Bernard Noël,
the father of her children.
In keeping with Hazel’s wishes, there will be no
visitation or funeral service. A private scattering of her ashes will
take place in Guardalavaca, Cuba.
In memory of Hazel, donations to the Canadian Cancer Society
or a charity of the donor’s choice would be greatly
appreciated.
Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the professional
care of Frenette Funeral and Cremation Centre, 396 Main Street,
Shediac (506-532-3297).
