It is with immense sadness that we announce the passing of Viola Marie Daigle, peacefully on April 3, 2026, at the age of 91, at Dr. Georges-L.-Dumont UHC. Born in Pointe-Sapin, Viola was the beloved daughter of the late Charles and the late Phoebée (Daigle) Mazerolle.

Viola was a devoted wife, a loving mother, and a beloved grandmother and great-grandmother. She was the pilar of her family — a strong, courageous woman admired by all who knew her. A trailblazer in her own right, Viola was the first student to earn her high school diploma from the Pointe-Sapin School through correspondence courses. She went on to study nursing in Campbellton. Following her 30-year career, she retired at the emergency department of the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital in Fredericton.

She is survived by her beloved husband of 66 years, Yvon; her three devoted children: Daniel (Ellen), Michelle Daigle (Robb Francis) and Monique Daigle (André Allain); her six grandchildren: Mathieu, Julie, Devon, Danielle, Chloé and Émilie; as well as four great-grandchildren: Logan, Leo, Sophie and Daphnée. Several nieces, nephews, and other family members will also keep good memories.

Besides her parents, Viola was predeceased by eight brothers and sisters: Eva, Charles, Léonard, Raymond, Alyre, Bertha, Christina and Ernestine.

In accordance with her last wishes, there will be no visitation or service at the funeral home. A private family ceremony will be held this summer in Pointe-Sapin, followed by burial at the local cemetery.

Funeral arrangements are in the professional care of Frenette Funeral and Cremation Centre, Moncton (506-858-1900).

Words of comfort and donations may be done at www.frenettefuneralhome.com.

Her strength and love will forever remain etched in the hearts of all who knew her.
