It is with sadness that the family of Exelda Marie Allain (nee Babin) announces her passing. She passed away peacefully in her sleep on March 2, 2026 aged 96 in Burlington Ontario.

Born on April 26, 1929 in Scoudouc, NB, to Philias and Annie (Melanson) Babin, Exelda was a cherished spouse, devoted mother, and loyal friend. She will be remembered for her zest for life, sense of humour and passion for sewing and crafting, joyously decorating for every holiday. Exelda was proud of her family who was very important to her often saying "You're rich with family".

Exelda is survived by her son Paul Allain (Diane), twin daughters Lucie Allan (the late Michael), Louise Allain (Cindy), eight grandchildren, and 15 great-grandchildren. Exelda was predeceased by husband Lionel Allain (2000), son Robert Allain (Gail) (2024), and grandson Jeremy Allain (1985 Diane and Paul). Exelda was also predeceased by all of her siblings: Yvonne, Irene, Alfreda, Geneva, Eustache, Ovila, Leander, Emery, Oscar, Laurie, Marie.

We wish to thank all the staff at Billings Court Manor for their compassionate care of Exelda during her time with them, and for their sincere condolences to our family during this time.

The funeral service will be celebrated at Frenette Funeral and Cremation Centre, 88 Church Street, Moncton, NB, (506-858-1900) on Friday June 19, 2026 at 11 am followed by interment at Cocagne Parish Cemetery.
