Géraldine Landry

It is with immense sadness that we announce the passing of Géraldine Landry. She passed away at Maison Providence on February 21, 2026. Born in Trois-Ruisseaux, NB, she was the daughter of the late Johnny and Marie-Louise (Landry) Bourque.

Géraldine leaves to mourn her husband, Jean Landry of Grand-Barachois; her three sisters: Gracia LeBlanc (Bernard) of Moncton, Claudette Léger of Moncton, and Charline Bourque of Shediac; her three brothers: Jean (Eva) of Grand-Barachois, Paul (Brenda) of Cap-Pelé, and Normand (Albanie) of Dieppe; as well as many nieces and nephews.

Geraldine had a magical gift for making everyone feel special, offering a listening ear and precious advice that shaped our lives. She was like a second mother to some, a confidante and a guiding light. Affectionately known as Nani (pronounced "Nawnie") or Gerry, she had a heart of gold and, if you were lucky enough to be part of her circle, she loved you deeply and unconditionally.

Her home was filled with warmth and was known as the gathering place for family and friends. When you walked in, there were always freshly baked muffins on the counter. It was where we gathered to chat, for the well-established daily cocktail hour, and as a meeting point before a short walk to the beach.

Geraldine and Jean spent several years in Connecticut, where they built their careers, developed a strong network of friends and contacts, and became involved in their community. Some of those long-standing friendships remain to this day because of the time they spent there. They had a natural charisma and such kindness that it was impossible not to be drawn to them. To know them was to love them.

Besides her parents, Géraldine was predeceased by her sister, Lilianne LeBlanc.

In accordance with the family’s wishes, there will be no visitation. A private funeral service will be held at a later date.

In memory of Géraldine, donations to Maison Providence (Activities Department) or to the Alzheimer Foundation would be appreciated.

Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Centre funéraire Frenette, 2642 Acadie Road, Cap-Pelé, NB E4N 1E4 (506-577-3297).
