It is with heavy hearts that the family announces the peaceful passing of Cyril Joseph Doucette, 86, of Moncton, on Sunday February 8, 2026 at The Moncton Hospital after a lengthy illness, with family by his side. Born in Tignish, PEI, he was the son of the late Patrick J. and Agnes (nee Arsenault) Doucette of St. Felix.

Cyril was the most gentle and kind man on the planet. He was well known for his immense kindness, compassion and empathy to everyone, be the family, friend, or stranger. His family was everything to him. In his children's younger years, he could be found, many times, driving a car full of children from the neighbourhood to and from the pool, baseball field, and many other events. He was a proud member of the Hum-Lew-Sun Lions Club, where he forged many wonderful friendships, and served as King Lion for one year.

He is survived by his four children: Kim LeBlanc (Andy), Dean Manderson-Doucette (Kelli), Bryan Doucette (Angela), and Mike Doucette (Coralee), all of Moncton; three beloved grandchildren, of whom he was so proud and who brought him so much joy: Adam and Ryan LeBlanc and Ella Doucette; one sister, Pat Williams (Allison) of Summerside, PEI; two sisters-in-law: Roberte Doucette (late John) of Shediac, NB, and Theresa Doucette, (late Paul) of St. Felix, PEI; along with many nieces and nephews whom he cherished.

In addition to his parents, Cyril was predeceased by his loving wife of 52 years, Mary "Betty" Doucette (DesRoche); two sisters: Olive DesRoches and Theresa Boucher; three brothers; John, Paul, and Nelson Doucette; as well as a brother and three sisters in infancy.

The family wishes to express their sincere gratitude to Dr. Corey Burton, Dr Christos Lioupis, the staff of 4200 unit of The Moncton Hospital, the Extra-Mural Driscoll Unit, Barb Brown, LPN of Barb's Foot Care, as well as the staff at Ocean Hall for the wonderful care and compassion provided to Cyril.

The family will receive condolences at Frenette Funeral and Cremation Centre, 88 Church Street, Moncton (506-858-1900) where the funeral service will be celebrated on Friday February 13 at 3:30 pm. Visiting hours are Friday from 1:30 pm until time of service. Interment will be at Our Lady of Calvary cemetery in Dieppe. In memory of Cyril, a contribution to the Friends of The Moncton Hospital or the Humphrey Lewisville Sunny Brae Lions Club would be appreciated.
