Lorraine Duguay, of Grand-Barachois, passed away peacefully
on January 24, 2026. She was the beloved daughter of the late Henri
Richard and the late Anna (Cormier) Richard.
Prior to her retirement, Lorraine was a dedicated and
hardworking employee. She spent many years working as Dr
Renault’s secretary; as well as at the glass factory in
Scoudouc. Her strong work ethic and reliability were well
known and deeply respected. In her leisure time, Lorraine found great
joy in gardening during the summer months and took pride in bottling
and preserving the foods she carefully prepared. She also had a great
love for knitting and quilting and lovingly created many beautiful
articles for her family and friends, gifts that will be treasured as
lasting reminders of her care and generosity.
Lorraine will be deeply missed by her devoted husband of 70
years, Roger Duguay; her loving daughters: Roberte Cyr (Bob) of
Moncton and Jeannette Duguay of British Columbia; her dear sisters:
Jeannine Melanson (Edmour) of Dieppe and Juliette Richard ( late Jean
Nima) of Moncton; and her cherished brothers: Donald (Joanne) of
Haute-Aboujagane, Roger (Jeannette) of Shediac, Guy (Jeanne) of
Haute-Aboujagane, Laurie (Ginette) of Cap-Pelé, and Joseph
"Joe" (Patsy) of Barachois; and a sister in-law Monique
Richard-Léger (Philippe) de Shediac.
She is also lovingly remembered by her grandchildren: Gary
Boudreau (Isabelle) and Gilles Boudreau (Aline); her precious
great-grandchildren: Anabelle, Jacob, Caleb, Gabrielle, and
André; her great-great-grandchild, Ellie-Rose; as well as
by many nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, Lorraine was predeceased by her infant
daughter, Donna, and by her sister Roberte and brother
Jean.
A private funeral ceremony was already held.
Interment will take place in the Haute-Aboujagane
Sacré-Coeur Cemetery, in the spring.
In memory of Lorraine, a donation to the Heart and Stroke
Foundation of Canada or to a charity of your choice would be
appreciated.
Funeral arrangements have been
