Mark Steele, 68, played his final note, surrounded by friends, on January 14th, 2026, at The Moncton Hospital, after a brief illness.

Mark was well known in local music circles, as an accomplished guitarist, playing with many bands and talents. He was a fixture at Moncton Music Center for years, before venturing on his own, at Steele Stringed Instruments, where the laughs and musicianship continued.

In later years, Mark enjoyed spending hours in his garden (He really had a green thumb!) and loved the company of cats. He had a special bond with them and rescued many.

He will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him. Share a joke, tell a story, make someone laugh in his memory.

There will be no service as per Mark's request.

Cremation and funeral arrangements are under the direction of Frenette Funeral and Cremation Centre, 396 Main Street Shediac (532-3297).
