John Edgar Lawrence, age 66, of Shediac Bridge, N.B., passed away suddenly on December 27, 2025. Born in Moncton, he was the son of the late Don Lawrence (1976) and the late Johanna Collins (2017).

John was recently retired from Canada Post. He was also a proud member of IATSE Local 680. An avid fan of country and rock, he rarely missed the chance to attend a live concert. John’s lifelong love of hockey began in his early years, and he was a devoted Montreal Canadiens supporter. John was also a Sea Cadet as a teenager and a graduate of Mathieu-Martin high school. John will be greatly missed for his kind nature and his willingness to lend a helping hand.

John is survived by his extended family: Dr. Joyce Kennedy (Bill Leslie), Kerry Turner (Peter), Jenna Turner, Leigh Gillis (Paton Francis), and Ewan Francis, all of Halifax, N.S., and Mary Kennedy of Australia.

The family extends sincere thanks for the support shown by John’s close friends and by Frenette Funeral Centre.

A Celebration of Life followed by interment will be held in the Spring at Elmwood Cemetery in Moncton and will be announced. In memory of John, a contribution to a charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated.
