Yvonne Chase, 86, of Moncton, passed away peacefully at the
Dr. Georges-L.-Dumont UHC on December 28, 2025, after a hard-fought
battle with kidney disease.
Born in Saint John in 1939, and raised a staunch Catholic,
she would often joke that the War started over her. She
built a lifetime of memories in service to others and had a genuine
love of life. She shared this through the many organizations
she volunteered for including the Ray of Hope Soup Kitchen, Dieppe
Lion’s Club, St. Vincent de Paul, and 25 years teaching
Catechism at St Augustine’s Parish.
She was born the third eldest of 12 children and is
predeceased by her parents, Edward (Ned) and Mary Chase; her sisters:
Virginia (Art) Gautreau, Irene (Harold) Briggs, Betty (Raymond)
Gallant, Marie (Fred) Collette, and Rita Roy; her brothers: Alex,
Roger (Betty), Tom (Joanne), and Harry (Josephine). She is
survived by her brothers: Charlie (Shirley) and John (late
Theresa).
Nothing made her prouder and smile more than the love she had
for her family, her son William (Stacey), and grandchildren: Dylan
(Brianna) and Bailey. In some of her final words, she
proudly declared her love for her family. Her contribution
to making the world a better place will be hard to replace, and she
will be sadly missed. Rest in Peace.
The family will receive condolences at Frenette Funeral and
Cremation Centre, 88 Church Street, Moncton (506-858-1900) on Friday
from 2 to 4 pm and 7 to 9 pm and Saturday from 10:30 am until time of
departure (11h15). The funeral mass will be celebrated at St.
Augustine’s Roman Catholic Church, 340 Dominion Street,
Moncton, on Saturday January 3 at 11:30 am. Interment will be at Our
Lady of Calvary cemetery in Dieppe. In memory of Yvonne, a
contribution to the Kidney Foundation would be
appreciated.
