At the York Care Centre in Fredericton, on Saturday, November 22, 2025, Jeannine Jean of Fredericton passed away at the age of 87. Born in Dalhousie, she was the daughter of the late Emile and Edna (Fitzsimmons) Parent.

Jeannine lived in Dalhousie most of her life, moved to Dieppe in 2006 and came to Fredericton in 2022 to be near her daughter Dianne. She was a very sociable woman who loved her family and her many friends. She took part in various social and sporting activities throughout her life. She loved music and going dancing, especially at Sandy Beach during their summers for more than 50 years.

She is survived by her daughter, Dianne Jean (Gordon Robinson) of Fredericton; her brother, Jimmy of Dalhousie; her grandchildren: Tiffany (Matt), Krista (Tyler), Rob (Monica), and Jim; her great-grandchildren: Sofi, Austin, Ella, Jack, Mango, Bobby, Toby, and Eli; as well as her nieces: Shelly Lapointe and Renée Parent; one nephew, Marc Doucet and many friends.

Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Willie; her son, Richard; a daughter, Monique; a brother, Raymond; and her sister Jeannette.

As per Mrs. Jean’s wishes, there will be no visitation at the funeral home or funeral service. Jeannine will be laid to rest in the Darlington Cemetery near Dalhousie. The family wishes to thank the doctors, nurses, and support staff of the York Care Centre (Tower 1) for their excellent care to Jeannine.
