In Loving Memory of Raoul Gallant
1934 – 2025

Raoul Gallant, of Grand Barachois and formerly of Lewisville, passed away on Tuesday, November 11, 2025, at the age of 91. He was the son of the late Alphonse and the late Éléonore Gallant.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 66 years, Ghislaine; his daughters: Joanne (Claude Leblanc), Chantal (Serge Bernard), and Nicole (Nevin Price); his sons: Charles, Michel (Lisette Leblanc), and Daniel; his grandchildren: Mélissa, Zachary, Taylor, Gabrielle, Pierre, Xavier, David, Nicholas, Nadia, Nathalie, and Alexandra; his great-grandson Jesse; as well as his brothers Roméo (late Patricia) and Louis.

For 42 years, Raoul worked for the Canadian National Railway Company (CN). In addition, he served for many years as president of Local 5 of the Canadian Brotherhood of Railway, Transport and Other Workers.

In retirement, he developed a passion for woodworking and crafts. A dedicated man, he served his Lewisville community as a volunteer at St-Louis de France Church. He was one of the founding members of Lewisville Minor Hockey and contributed to the Nicholas Beach Committee in Grand-Barachois.

Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his brothers Paul (late Blanche Brine), Léonce (Léa Richard), and Roger (Rolande Bourque); as well as his sisters Andréa (Léonide Breau), Germaine (late Alonzo Frenette), Thérèse (Vern Poly), Angela (Terry Corbett), Maria, and Lucille (late Léonard Chisholm).

The family wishes to express their heartfelt gratitude to Dr. Dupuis, Dr. Finn, and the entire medical team for the care and compassion shown to Raoul.

The family will receive condolences at Frenette Funeral Centre, 396 Main Street, Shediac (506-532-3297), on Thursday, December 18, 2025, from 1:00 p.m. to 2:45 p.m.  The funeral will be held at 3:00 p.m. in the chapel of Frenette Funeral Centre, Shediac, N.B.
