Peter Avard, 74, of Moncton, passed away on Saturday November
15, 2025 at The Moncton Hospital. Born in Moncton, he was the son of
the late Walter and Carolyn (Donald) Avard.
In 1973, Peter graduated from Devry Institute of Technology
in Toronto. He worked 45 years in the electrical industry
with 15 years in the electrical power distribution/heating and 32
years of experience with sales and service of uninterruptable power
system and data room design. Peter’s passion was sailing on
Shediac Bay with his wife and he had served as Commodore of both
Shediac Bay Marina and PCYC Yacht Club over the years. They had great
times and made special friendships.
He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Peggy (Sturgeon); his
son, Michael of Halifax, NS; his granddaughter’s mother who
was like a daughter to him, Kandice Martin of North Bay, ON; his
granddaughter , Ariyah Avard; his brother, William of Ontario; as well
his nieces, nephews, and many friends.
By request, there will be no visitation at the funeral home.
The funeral service will be celebrated at St. John’s United
Church, 75 Alma Street, Moncton on Thursday November 27 at 2 pm. Since
parking is limited at the church, parking at walking distance is
available at Frenette Funeral Centre. The funeral service
will be videotaped, and the video will be available on Peter's
obituary on the Frenette Website at the end of the
day. In memory of Peter, a contribution to PAW
(People for Animal Wellbeing) or a charity of the donor’s
