It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Richard "Butch" Morton, 58, of Moncton and formerly of Notre-Dame, on Friday October 24, 2025, at Hospice SENB (Albert House) following a courageous battle with cancer. Born in Moncton, he was the son of Pauline LeBlanc of Notre-Dame and Cecil Morton (Phyllis) of Moncton.

Butch followed many career paths throughout his life. Most recently, he found great joy as a bus driver for Codiac Transpo, where he cherished the friendships he built with his coworkers and passengers alike. His humour and genuine care for others will be remembered by all who had the pleasure of knowing him. Like Butch would always say, "Don’t worry, be happy!"

Besides his parents, he is survived by his wife of 37 years, Pauline (Poirier); his son, Jason (Natasha) of Moncton; his brother, Bob of Rexton; as well as his mother-in-law, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

The family will receive condolences at Frenette Funeral and Cremation Centre, 88 Church Street, Moncton (506-858-1900) where the funeral service will be celebrated on Wednesday October 29 at 11 am. Visiting hours are Tuesday October 28 from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. only. Interment will be in the Notre-Dame parish cemetery. In memory of Butch, a contribution to Hospice SENB (Albert House) or the CHU Dumont Foundation (unit 4D- oncology) would be appreciated.
