It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Stéphanie Chevarie, 28, of Shediac, accidentally on Saturday October 11, 2025. Born in Moncton, she was the daughter of Donald and Patricia (Bourque) Chevarie.

She will be greatly missed by her parents, Donald and Patricia; her boyfriend, Tyler Kelly; her brother, Jonathan (Dani); her nephew, Isaac; paternal grandmother, Régina Chevarie; maternal grandfather, Clarence Bourque; and her little dog Otis. She is also survived by her aunt, Réjeanne (Éric); uncles: Edouard (Irene), Jean-Guy (Lori) and Roland (Gwen); her cousins: Nathalie, Rachel, Jeremy and Pierre; as well as many friends.

She was predeceased by her paternal grandfather, Camille Chevarie; and maternal grandmother, Marguerite Bourque.

Stéphanie loved nothing more than being happy and having fun. Whether with her family, boyfriend, friends, in-laws, colleagues, or fellow athletes, laughing and enjoying herself were always at the top of her list of priorities, and most of the time, her personal mission.

Stéphanie loved her job as a personal support worker (operating room) at the Dr. Georges-L.-Dumont Hospital.

Caring for others came naturally to Stephanie. With her constant smile, when you walked into a room, it only took a few seconds to notice that she was there too. Between her weekends filled with sports games, where she jumped from gym to arena, and festive evenings celebrating her Acadian heritage, her cheerfulness and joy always shone through.

Her impact extended beyond the four walls of the house where she grew up. For her, the word family had many meanings. From her hockey family, the Patriotes, as a player and coach, to her volleyball family, where her impact was felt in every gym in the Southeast region, and finally, to her community involvement family, where she gave her time to the many causes that she and her parents held dear, her adopted family tree has many roots that will continue to grow for a long time to come.

The family will receive condolences at Frenette Funeral and Cremation Centre, 396 Main Street, Shediac (506-532-3297) Thursday October 16 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm only. The funeral mass will be celebrated at St-Joseph R.C. Church, 415 Main Street, Shediac, on Friday October 17 at 11 am. Stéphanie’s final resting place will be at Frenette Columbarium in Shediac.

In memory of Stéphanie, a contribution to the Centre Courage, Shediac would be appreciated.
