It is with deep sadness that the family announces the passing of Jeanne Cormier, who passed away peacefully at the Dr. Georges-L.-Dumont University Hospital Centre, surrounded by her loving family. Born in Barachois, she was the daughter of the late Raymond and late Marie (Babineau) Boudreau.
Jeanne is survived by her four children: Denise Cormier (Neil) of Shediac, Phyllis Léger (Jean), Joanne Landry (Donald), and Gilles Gagnon (Carmen), all of Grand-Barachois; 7 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren; her siblings: Normand (Evelyn) of Riverview, Rose Rockwell (Jerry) of Lantz, N.S., and Stella Boudreau-Guérin, Louise Dupuis (Jean-Paul), Béatrice Bourque (Georges) and Andrea Boudreau, all from Shediac; as well as many nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her first husband, Antonio Gagnon (1974); her second husband, Norman Cormier (2019); her siblings: Bernice Melanson, Simone LeBlanc, Gloria Léger, Lorraine Boudreau, Alfred, Roméo, Ronald, and Donald.
Jeanne worked for 30 years at the Paturel Lobster Shop. After she worked at the Parlee Beach canteen in the summer up until her retirement. Jeanne cherished time spent with her family. She had a deep love for family gatherings, music, cooking, playing cards, quilting, and tending to her garden. Her warmth, laughter, and kindness will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
The family will receive condolences at Frenette Funeral and Cremation Centre, 396 Main Street, Shediac (506-532-3297) on Sunday, October 12, 2025 from 7 pm to 9 pm only. The funeral mass will be celebrated at St-Henri de Barachois R. C. church, 1356 route 133, Grand-Barachois on Monday October 13 at 10:30 am. Interment will be in St-Henri-de-Barachois parish cemetery in Grand-Barachois.
In memory of Jeanne, a contribution to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of New Brunswick would be appreciated.
