It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Charles Albert LeBlond, who died peacefully on July 3, 2025, at the age of 68 in Moncton, NB.

Born in Grand Falls, NB, Charles was the son of the late Oscar LeBlond and the late Yvette LeBlond (née Levesque).

He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Colette d’Entremont; his sons: Louis LeBlond (Erica Doucet) of Dunedin, New Zealand, and Jean-Claude LeBlond (Stephanie Murphy) of Moncton; and his cherished grandchildren: Evelyne and William (due in August 2025). He is also survived by his siblings Diane Godbout (Allain), Yves LeBlond (Louise), and Josette Bernier (Michel); as well as many nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his siblings: Louis LeBlond (Anne-Marie) and Louise Savage (Verne).

Charles earned his law degree from the Université de Moncton in 1982 and practised law with Stewart McKelvey for 36 years before being appointed to the New Brunswick Court of Appeal. His colleagues knew him as a dedicated judge, deeply invested in his role, always striving for fairness, clarity, and compassion in the work of the Court.

In 1999, he earned the distinction of being appointed King’s Counsel. The very next year, he was elected president of the Law Society of New Brunswick. In 2009 he became a fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers. As a barrister, Charles appeared before all courts of New Brunswick. In 2013, he had the privilege of arguing a case before the Supreme Court of Canada.

Outside of work, he enjoyed driving his sports car, playing golf, and sharing a cigar and glass of wine with friends. He was deeply proud of his family and found great joy in his granddaughter.

The family extends their sincere thanks to the Oncology Department at The Moncton Hospital and the Extra-Mural nurses for their exceptional care and compassion.

Visitations will be held at Frenette Funeral and Cremation Centre, 88 Church Street, Moncton (506-858-1900), on Thursday, July 10 from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. only.

The funeral mass will be celebrated at Notre-Dame-de-la-Paix church, 87 Murphy Avenue, Moncton on Friday, July 11 at 11:30 a.m.  A reception will follow at the Centre Père-Patrice-LeBlanc (same location). Interment will take place at Assumption cemetery in Grand Falls.
