Surrounded by her family, our sweet and beautiful wife,
mother and grandmother, Claire Dupuis (née Vautour) passed
away on Thursday July 3, 2025, at the age of 82, after a courageous
battle with cancer. Born in Saint-Louis-de-Kent, she was the daughter
of the late René Vautour and the late Lucie (Richard)
Vautour of Saint-Louis-de-Kent.
She is survived by her beloved husband of 59 years, Ronald;
her children: Pierre (Jackie) of Moncton and Daniel (Nicole) of
Memramcook; her grandchildren whom she loved so much: Eric (Jenn) of
Riverview, Patrick (Alexie) of Dieppe, Nathalie (Zane) and Manon
(Nathan) of Moncton, and Félix of Memramcook; and her
great-grandchildren: Novah, Emilia, Sutter, and Carter. We will love
you forever.
Claire also leaves seven sisters: Idora (Emile Cormier) and
Noëlla (Bernard LeBlanc) of Dieppe, Anne-Marie and Pierrette
(Ronald Daigle) of Saint-Louis-de-Kent, Lucille (Émilien
Côté) of Bathurst, Solange (Jean-Guy Robichaud)
and Lise (Armand Cormier) of Saint-Ignace; four brothers: Gilles
(Huguette) of Chicoutimi, Qué., Donatien (Marie),
Paul-Émile (Norma), and Jean-Pierre (Camilla), all of
Saint-Louis-de-Kent; her goddaughters: Lise Cormier and Nancy Dupuis
of Edmonton, AB; as well as her Dupuis in-laws, and several nieces and
nephews.
Besides her parents, René and Lucie
(née Richard), she was predeceased by a young brother,
Gérard; her brothers: Roland (Joan) and Richard;
brothers-in-law: Vincent Bordage (Anne-Marie) and Clarence Dupuis
(Leatha); and sisters-in-law: Annette Vautour (Paul-Émile)
and Jeannette Rietzel (Brian).Claire was a woman of great
faith.
She was a simple woman who loved her family, her children and
grandchildren more than anything, her brothers, sisters,
sisters-in-law, and brothers-in-law. She adored spending time with her
loved ones, whether it was visits to Memramcook or evenings by the
campfires in Saint-Ignace with her sons. She loved cross-country
skiing, golf, blueberry picking, and traveling the world to Denmark,
France, Senegal, Brazil, Florida, the Caribbean on cruises, and
Barbados with her husband and family. She had a talent for sewing and
enjoyed crafting, in addition to being an excellent cook. Claire
touched countless lives with her empathy and kindness, volunteering at
the Karing Kitchen to help feed Moncton's less fortunate, and always
offering a warm smile to those in need.
We would like to thank the staff at Maison Albert and the Dr.
Léon-Richard Oncology Centre for the incredible care she
received over the past few months, and especially Dr. Robyn Comeau and
Dr. Danika Landry, without whom we would not have been able to enjoy
these last few months with our mother and wife.
The family will receive relatives and friends at Frenette
Funeral and Cremation Centre, 88 Church Street, Moncton (506-858-1900)
where the funeral service will be celebrated on Monday July 7 at 11
a.m. Visiting hours are Sunday July 6 from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 7 p.m.
