It is with heavy hearts that
we announce the passing of our beloved daughter, Marie-France
Robichaud, 32 years old, who left us on Thursday, June 12 at the Dr.
Georges-L.-Dumont UHC, surrounded by her loved ones. Marie-France was
a woman who lit up the hearts of others with her contagious smile and
joyful personality.
Born in Quebec City, she is
survived by her beloved partner, Amandeep Singh; us, her parents,
André Robichaud and Janice Saulnier; her grandmother,
Éva Saulnier; several aunts, uncles, cousins, and many
friends and colleagues.
Marie-France lived with
intensity and passion, which she expressed particularly through her
art—mainly photography and painting. She also practiced
dance and, during her studies, explored ceramics and printmaking. She
will be remembered for the determination and courage she showed during
her long battle with cancer.
A celebration of life will be
held in August, with the exact date to be announced later. Thank you
to everyone who is surrounding us with love during this difficult
time.
Those who wish to make a
donation are invited to do so to F Stop Studio, of which Marie-France
was a co-founder. The studio is launching the Marie-France Robichaud
Grant, a prize that reflects the kindness of a creative, generous, and
radiant woman, and commemorates an artist who, despite a premature
departure, played a meaningful role in photography. Through this
grant, F Stop Studio will be able to support artists in working with
the photographic medium through dedicated creative
funding.
A celebration of
life and a vernissage of Marie-France's latest works will take place
on Sunday, August 10, 2025, from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the
Françoise-Chamard-Cadieux Gallery (FCC) on the 2nd floor of
the Aberdeen Cultural Centre, 140 Botsford Street, Moncton,
N.B.; Tel: (506) 857-9597.
