It is with sadness that the family of Hermance Melanson, 98,
of Moncton, announce her passing on Friday June 20, 2025 at Pavillon
LeBlanc of Faubourg du Mascaret. Born in Moncton, she was
the daughter of the late Arthur and
Marie-Thérèse (LeBlanc) Melanson.
She was employed by the Federal Government for 42 years. She
was a former member of the Notre-Dame-de-la-Paix parish, Liberal
Ladies Association, Vie Montante, Université du 3e
Âge and a lifetime member of La Légion de
Marie.
She is survived by her nieces and nephews: Louise Mainville,
Monique Mainville, Murielle Assels (Carter), Roland Mainville
(Isabel), Jack Ryan (Barbara), Gisèle Berry (Calvin),
Joanne Bourque, Denise Melanson, Françis Melanson
(Phyllis), Jean-Denis Melanson and Pauline Magee (Robert); as well as
several great-nieces and great-nephews. She was the last surviving
member of her immediate family.
She was predeceased by six sisters: Joanne Melanson, Lucie
Ryan (John Denis "Johnny"), Loretta Melanson, Freda
Melanson, Eliza Mainville (Paul) and Anna LeBlanc (Edward
"Ned"); two brothers: Emery Melanson and Raymond Melanson
(Edith); as well as several nieces and nephews.
The funeral mass will be celebrated at Notre-Dame-de-la-Paix
R.C. Church, 87 Murphy Avenue, Moncton on Thursday June 26 at 11 am.
In accordance to her wishes, there will be no visitation. Interment
will be at Our Lady of Calvary cemetery in Dieppe. In memory of
Hermance, a contribution to the Food Depot Alimentaire or to a charity
of the donor’s choice would be appreciated. Funeral
