Aurore Gagnon, 91, of Moncton, passed away on Thursday June 5, 2025 at the Pavillon Landry of Faubourg du Mascaret. Born in Saint-Anselme, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Arzélie (LeBlanc) LeBlanc.

Aurore had a diverse career. She started in retail in the 1950s, with her first job at Macy’s, where she specialized in women’s clothing. For many years, she welcomed into her home people living with mental health challenges, offering them attentive and compassionate care. With her love for sweets, she also ran a small fudge business, which she prepared with passion. She loved knitting and crocheting and created many knitted blankets (afghans) and doilies. She had a love for singing and, in retirement, sang in a choir alongside her husband Alcide. She was a member of the Dames d’Acadie and the Ladies’ Auxiliary with the Knights of Columbus.

She is survived by four children: Marc (Claudette), Gilles (Janice), Jean-Luc (Sylvie), and Lissa (Michelle); nine grandchildren: Adam, Suzanne, Kristen, Sébastien, Isabelle, Wesley, Justine, Nicolas, and Cassie; five great-grandchildren: Félix, Zaiden, Kian, Aurora, Madelynn, and William.  She also leaves behind a few sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, as well as several nieces and nephews. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.

She was predeceased by her husband, Alcide (2017); three sisters: Yvonne, Andréa, and Edith; six brothers: Arsène, Zoël, Edouard, Edgar, Henri, and Antoine.

The family wishes to express their sincere gratitude towards the staff of Pavillon Landry for their exceptional care provide to Aurore.

The family will receive condolences at Frenette Funeral and Cremation Centre, 88 Church Street, Moncton (506-858-1900) where the funeral service will be celebrated on Tuesday June 17 at 3 pm. Visiting hours are Tuesday June 17 from 1:30 pm until time of funeral. Interment will be at Our Lady of Calvary cemetery in Dieppe. In memory of Aurore, a contribution to the Alzheimer Society would be appreciated.
