It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our
beloved father, Camille Melanson, 81, of Shediac. He passed away after
a brief illness surrounded by his loving daughters on June 5, 2025, at
the Dr. Georges-L.-Dumont UHC, Moncton. Born in Irishtown, he was the
son of the late Zöel and Évangéline
Bourgeois (Melanson).
While our world is empty without him, we find comfort in the
memories of a life lived with love, laughter, and immeasurable
generosity.
To know Dad was to know joy. His smile could light up any
room, it was the kind of smile that made people feel instantly at
ease, welcome, and loved. His heart of gold was even bigger than his
smile, always open to those in need, offering a helping hand, a
listening ear or just a warm hug when words weren’t
enough. He was more than a father he was our hero, our rock,
the heart of the family. Whether it was through his goofy jokes, quiet
wisdom, or endless support, dad had a way of making everyone feel
special. He taught us what it means to be kind, how to love without
limits, and how to face life with grace and gratitude. We
will miss him deeply, love him always, and carry his legacy forward
with every smile we share.
Before his retirement he was employed for 36 years with
Eastern Bakery Limited (Canada Bread).
Camille is survived by his three daughters: Diane Melanson
and Denise Saulnier (Daniel) all of Shediac and Nicole Ruel (Eric) of
Grand-Barachois; his sister, Génèva Boucher of
Saint-Antoine; his sister-in-law, Annette Melanson of Moncton; his
four precious grandchildren: Josée (Ricky), Marc. Patrick
and Danika; as well as several nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, Camille was predeceased by his loving
wife of 59 years, Rita (2024); his brothers and sisters:
Aurèle, Gérard, Maurice, Edna, Rita and Dora;
and his son-in-law, Marcel Roy.
