It is with heavy hearts that we announce the sudden passing
of Fernand Maillet of Moncton. Born in Scoudouc, he was the son of the
late Hector and Lorette (Nowlan) Maillet.
Before his retirement, Fern worked as an electrician with CN.
He was also experienced in construction electrical work and happy to
lend a helping hand to family and friends. Fern was a proud 3rd degree
member of the Knights of Columbus, Council 1310. Fern had a passion
for hunting, spending time at his camp, and exploring the back roads
on his ATV. He also enjoyed traveling with Phyllis and enjoyed his
time at the cottage with his cousin, Laurie.
Fern will be deeply missed by his loving wife of 53 years,
Phyllis (Melanson); his sons, Tim (Charelle) of Upper Tantallon, NS,
and Mike of Kelowna, BC; his two cherished grandchildren, Luke and
Gabrielle, who he adored; his sister, Janita of Scoudouc; his
brothers: Aurele (late Aurea) of Moncton, Andre (late Alphonsine) of
Scoudouc, and Royal (Charline) of Moncton; as well as many
sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, and nephews.
The family will receive condolences at Frenette Funeral and
Cremation Centre, 88 Church Street, Moncton (506-858-1900) where the
funeral service will be celebrated on Saturday, June 7 at 11:30 am.
Visiting hours are Saturday from 9:30 am until time of funeral. In
honor of Fern’s memory, donations to the Heart and Stroke
Foundation of New Brunswick would be greatly
appreciated.
