Aurore Melanson, 96, of the Passamaquoddy Lodge, St. Andrews and formally of Cormier-Village passed away on Wednesday, May 21, 2025, at her residence. Born in Cap-Pelé, she was the daughter of the late Gilbert and Pélagie (Richard) LeBlanc. 

She retired from the Villa Providence, after her retirement she also volunteered at the Villa Providence for many years to follow. 

She is survived by her children: Betty Melanson of Moncton, Mary Anne LeBlanc (Laurie) of Ottawa, ON, Angela Rea (Gordon) of Pocologan, NB, Jack of Haute-Aboujagane and Micheal of Shediac; her sister, Viola Léger of Shediac; her four grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; as well as several nieces and nephews. 

Aurore was predeceased by her husband Gérard (2000); by her son Gilbert (2013); her siblings: Marie Forgeron, Léontine Boudreau, Germaine Surette, Ernest, Zella Babineau, Généva Cormier, Bliss and Oswald. 

A funeral service will be celebrated on Tuesday, June 3, 2025, at 2 pm at Frenette Funeral and Cremation Centre, 396 Main Street, Shediac (506-532-3297). There will be no visitation prior to the service. 

In memory of Aurore, a donation to the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated.
