Sister Yolande Savoie, ndsc, passed away following a lengthy illness on Wednesday May 21, 2025 at the Motherhouse of the Religieuses de Notre-Dame-du-Sacré-Coeur in Moncton. She was 89 years of age and in the 69th year of her religious life. Born in in Saint-Maurice, she was the daughter of the late William and Azélie (Poirier) Savoie.
Besides her religious family, she is survived by two sisters: Claudia Savoie-Flett and Georgina Moore, both of Massachusetts; as well as several nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by two sisters: Aline Caissie and Sr Huberte, ndsc; eight brothers: Désiré, Aldéo, Fidèle, André, Adélard, Raymond, Eugère, and Odilon.
Sister Yolande will be resting at the Notre-Dame-d’Acadie Pavilion of the Maison-mère des Religieuses Notre-Dame-du-Sacré-Coeur, 125 King Street, Moncton (Godfrey Lane entrance) on Sunday May 25 from 2 pm to 8:30 pm, with Solemn Vespers at 7 pm. Visitations will start again on Monday May 26 from 9 am until the funeral mass. The funeral mass will be celebrated on Monday May 26 in the Maison-mère chapel at 10 am. The funeral mass will be streamed live and may be viewed on her obituary at www.frenettefuneralhome.com where condolences may also be sent. Interment will be in Memramcook.
