At the SENB Hospice (Maison Albert), on
Wednesday, May 7, 2025, Bernice LeBlanc of Petit-Cap, passed away
peacefully at the age of 91. She was the beloved wife of William
"Billy" LeBlanc of Petit-Cap. Born in Shemogue, she was the
daughter of the late Bernard Sandell and the late Céleste
(Donelle) Sandell.
Before her retirement, Bernice worked alongside her husband, William, at Botsford Fisheries Ltd., the company they founded together. She cherished traveling with him and enjoyed meeting customers from around the world. Bernice will be remembered for her kindness, deep devotion to her family, and the love she so generously shared with those around her. Her beloved cat, Lucky, brought her great comfort—especially in her later days.
She is survived by her husband William; her children: Clement (Dana), Guy, Janice Ryan (Bernard), all of Petit-Cap, and Judy Bourque of Grand-Barachois; her sister-in-law, Jean Sandell of Petit-Cap; her grandchildren: Samuel, Adèle, Mario, Patrick, and Matthew; her great-grandchildren: Annabelle, Niko, Mika, Mia, and Lucas.
She was predeceased by her brother Clement.
As per Bernice’s wishes, a private funeral service was held. She will be laid to rest in the Saint-Thimothée Parish Cemetery in Shemogue.
The family extends their heartfelt thanks to the doctors, nurses, and support staff at Maison Albert for the compassionate and loving care provided to Bernice.
In memory of Bernice, donations to the SENB Hospice (Maison Albert) would be greatly appreciated.
