We are so sad to announce the passing of Jeannine Gautreau,
on Wednesday, May 7th, 2025. Jeannine was born in Robichaud NB.
Jeannine leaves behind her children Jacques (Sylvia) and Pierre
(Cathy). She also leaves her grandchildren Connor and Zoë.
Jeannine will be missed by her brothers George (Francelyne), and Jean
(Rosaline), and her sisters, Francine (late Allard), Odette (late
Ron), Yvette (Leo), and Carmella (Ken). Jeannine was predeceased by
her parents, her sister Marie-Mai and her brothers Norman (Karen) and
Jean-Guy.
After completing her education in Fredericton, she embarked a
teaching career that would span more than three decades and touch
countless lives. As an educator at École Champlain,
Jeannine was known for her welcoming smile, creating a classroom
environment where students felt both challenged and supported. Her
former students often returned years later to thank her for the
profound influence she had on their lives and academic
journeys.
Jeannine’s life was enriched by her loving
partnership with her husband, Yvon. Together, they embarked on
numerous adventures that led them to live in Montreal, Campbellton,
Moncton and Shediac. They traveled and created memories that they
cherished. Their travels reflected their shared curiosity about the
world and desire to experience different cultures. Even after
retirement, Jeannine and Yvon continued their adventures, spending
time in the Floridian sun with cherished friends.
Outside the classroom, Jeannine was a devoted volunteer who
generously gave her time and talents. Her commitment to community
service reflected her deep belief that we all have a responsibility to
contribute to the world around us. Whether she was making sure there
were toys and activities for children at the medical clinic, or
helping out with les Dames d’Acadie, Jeannine approached
each opportunity to serve with enthusiasm and
dedication.
In lieu of flowers, we ask that you consider donating to the
Oncology department of the Dr. Georges-L-Dumont University Hospital
Centre.
A celebration of life will be held at Frenette Funeral and
