It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our mother, Edith Melanson (née LeBlanc), at the age of 100 years, on Sunday May 4, 2025 at the Pavillon Richard of Faubourg du Mascaret. Born in Moncton, she was the daughter of Jude and Bertha (LeBlanc) LeBlanc.

She worked for several years at the DND Supply Depot #5 until her retirement.

She is survived by her children: Joanne Bourque (late Pierre), Francis Melanson (Phyllis), Jean-Denis Melanson (Paulette), Pauline Magee (Robert); daughter-in-law, Denise Melanson; her brother, Yvon LeBlanc (Thérèse); sisters-in-law: Hermance Melanson and Irène LeBlanc; her grandchildren: Michael Bourque (Catherine Côté), Nadine Paulin (Georgio), Nathalie Melanson-Kelly (Mike), Renée Melanson, Suzanne Melanson-Stewart (Denis), Marc Melanson (Shannon), Melissa Magee (Mike Martin) and Mathieu Melanson; great-grandchildren: Riley, Henri, Catherine, Alex, Jacob, Janelle, Thomas and Myles; as well as several nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her husband, Raymond Melanson; sons: Robert Melanson and infant Gary Melanson; four brothers: Alfred LeBlanc, René LeBlanc, Norman LeBlanc and Edgar LeBlanc; three sisters: Annie LeBlanc, Dora McGinity and Lorraine Richard.

As per our mother's request, there will be no visitation or funeral. Interment will be at Our Lady of Calvary cemetery in Dieppe. In Edith's memory, a contribution to the Food Depot Alimentaire (www.fooddepot.ca) would be greatly appreciated by the family. Funeral arrangements are in the professional care of Frenette Funeral and Cremation Centre, Moncton (506-858-1900).
