David Paul Ryan, 81, of Moncton, passed away on Tuesday April
22, 2025 at The Moncton Hospital. Born in Moncton, he was the son of
the late John and Lucie (Melanson) Ryan.
Before retiring, David was employed at the Department of
National Defence Supply Depot #5. He was a 3rd Degree member of the
Knights of Columbus – Council 1310 and also served as
"the" bingo caller in Sunny Brae, the community where he
spent his entire life. David had a passion for fishing at his trailer
in Miramichi and hunting at the camp, and he found great joy in
tending to the garden at his cottage, expanding it a little more each
year. He was a big Montreal Canadiens fan and also loved his Toronto
Blue Jays and New York Yankees. He enjoyed dancing and went out to
hear music four to five times a week.
He is survived by his daughter, Tania Fougère
(Darren Dupuis) of Moncton; his precious granddaughter whom he adored,
Hailey; one brother, John "Jack" and sister-in-law, Barbara,
of Moncton; his aunt, Hermance Melanson of Moncton; his nephew,
Richard Ryan (Lori) of Moncton; his cousins and many
friends.
He was predeceased by his wife, Gisèle
Léger (2006), and one daughter, Susan
(2021).
The family will receive condolences at Frenette Funeral and
Cremation Centre, 88 Church Street, Moncton (506-858-1900) from where
the funeral will be celebrated on Friday April 25 at 11 am. Visiting
hours are Friday from 9:30 am until time of funeral. The funeral

at Our Lady of Calvary cemetery in Dieppe. In memory of David, a
contribution to the Friends of The Moncton Hospital Foundation
