Magella St-Pierre (née Labrie), wife of the late Guy St-Pierre, passed away peacefully at her residence in Pavillon Cormier of Faubourg du Mascaret, surrounded by her family, on March 13, 2025 in Moncton. She was the daughter of the late Charles Labrie and the late Marie-Ange Gendron.

She is survived by her four daughters: Anne, Lise (Saci Hebabi) and Pauline (Derek Flynn) of Ottawa and Nicole (Michel Doucette) of Dieppe; two brothers: Onil (Isabelle) and Paul (Mérilda) of Saint-Quentin; and one sister, Odile Moreno (Frank) of Laguna Niguel, in California. She was predeceased by her loving husband Guy, and her sister Yvonne.

She will be sadly missed by her six granddaughters: Myriam Hebabi (Lamine Mbengue), Ariane Doucette (Nick Sleptov), Monique Flynn, Renée Flynn (Jamie Boocock), Isabelle Cormier (Michel Cormier) and Caroline Doucette (Andréanne Hétu); and her great-grandchildren: Babacar, Malick, Camille, Hugo and Valérie.

An avid reader, Magella was appreciated for her keen intelligence, independent spirit and talents for crafts and cooking. She had a career with the N.B. Ombudsman's office in Fredericton, where she was also involved with several francophone community organizations. She continued her volunteer work after retirement in Moncton, and travelled with her beloved husband Guy. She lovingly devoted herself to her family.

She spent her last few years at Pavillon Cormier, and we are grateful to the staff for their attentive care. The family would also like to extend their heartfelt thanks to the caregivers at the Dr. Georges-L.-Dumont UHC Emergency Department, who treated her with respect and great humanity despite their difficult working conditions.

The family will receive condolences at Frenette Funeral Centre, 88 Church Street, Moncton (506-858-1900) from where the funeral will be celebrated on Tuesday March 18 at 3 pm. Visiting hours are Tuesday from 1 pm until time of funeral. In memory of Magella, those who wish to do so may donate to a charity of their choice.

Condolences to the family and donations may be made through www.frenettefuneralhome.com
