It is with profound sadness that the family of
Irène Robichaud (born Gauvin) share the news of her passing
on February 19, 2025, at age 79. She passed away peacefully,
surrounded with love, at Albert House, in Moncton, N.B., after a brief
illness. Born in Dalhousie, N.B., she was the daughter of the late
Amédée and Albertine (Allard)
Gauvin.
Irène was a devoted, loving and caring
stay-at-home mother. She loved to bake and was the happiest when
sharing with friends and family, especially at Christmas time. She
also loved to crochet and, in the summer, spent a lot of time tending
her small vegetable garden. She found joy in the simple things and was
content simply being in the company of those she loved.
Irène is survived by her four sons: Daniel
(Jennifer Meister), Marc, André, and Éric (Anne
Richard), who will always remember and cherish her generous, patient
and tender nature.
Irène is also survived by her two brothers:
Raymond (Karen Martel) and Albert (Lise Neveu); her sister-in-law,
Colleen (Labillois) Gauvin; as well as by many nieces, nephews,
cousins and dear friends.
Irène was predeceased by her husband of 34 years,
Gérald; her two sisters: Alice and Rita; her brother,
Edgar; and her brother-in-law, Don Gallant.
The family sends its most heartfelt thanks and appreciation
to the dedicated staff of the Dr. Georges-L.-Dumont
University Hospital Centre and Albert House, as well as to
Dr. Monique Hébert, for the loving, attentive and
compassionate care they provided to Irène throughout her
illness.
According to her wishes, there will be no visitation and no
funeral service. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory can be
made to Hospice SENB - Albert House. Interment will be at Our Lady of
Calvary cemetery in Dieppe. Funeral arrangements are in the
professional care of Frenette Funeral and Cremation Centre, Moncton
(506-858-1900).
