Sister Edna Fraser (Sr. Arthur Maria), 87, of Royal Court, Riverview, passed away on February 11, 2025. She was a member of the Congrégation des Filles de Jésus for 64 years. Born in Pointe-à-la-Croix, Qué., she was the daughter of the late William and Odile (Berthelot) Fraser.

She is survived by two sisters: Isabelle of the United States and Viola of Ontario; one brother, John of Ontario.  She also leaves nieces and nephews and members of her religious family.

Besides her parents, Edna was predeceased by six brothers: Edwin, Frederick, Ralph, Harvé, George and Garry; two sisters: Sr. Viviane, f.j. and Sr. Jeannine, f.j.

Edna was a teacher in Western Canada for many years.  After her teaching years, she was involved in parish ministry for over 15 years.  Edna also served as a community superior for several years.  She also had the joy of accompanying the people associated with our Congregation for over 10 years.  On her return to New Brunswick in 1996, she worked mainly in pastoral care and catechetics.  In 2012, after her retirement, she came to live at Royal Court, Riverview, N.B.

Visitation will be held at Frenette Funeral and Cremation Centre, 88 Church Street, Moncton (506-858-1900) on Monday, February 17, from 9 to 10 am.  The funeral service will follow at 10 am.  The funeral service will be streamed live; to view the funeral, go to Sister Edna Fraser’s obituary on the Frenette Website.  Interment will be at Our Lady of Calvary cemetery in Dieppe.
