Marcel Chevarie, 90, of Moncton, passed away peacefully with his children by his side, on Friday, January 24, 2025 at the Villa du Repos. Born in Saint-Charles, he was the son of the late Ernest and Ida (Chevarie) Chevarie.

Marcel worked as a mechanic for most of his life until retirement while caring for his wife Stella and four children. In his later years, he enjoyed family gatherings with his children and grandchildren.

Marcel will be sadly missed by his three children: Jocelyn, Jeanine (Stephen) and Claude (Karen); seven grandchildren: Alyssa, Samantha, Chantal, Brad, Michael, Jack and Jake; two great-grandchildren: Avery and Sloane, and another on the way; six sisters: Ella Maillet (late Alderic), Maria Vautour (late Adolphe), Marguerite Johnson (Élide), Germaine Vautour (René), Yvette Maillet (Jean Daigle) and Claire McPherson (late Buddy); one brother, Ronald (late Jeannette); two sisters-in-law: Angèle Chevarie and Jeannette Chevarie; as well as several nieces and nephews.

Besides his parents, he was predeceased by Stella and one son, Paul; six siblings: Leo, Elsie, Gerald, Noëlla, Adolphe, and Ernest.

A private family service will be celebrated at Frenette Funeral and Cremation Centre, 88 Church Street, Moncton (506-858-1900) on Friday January 31 at 11 am. Interment will be at Our Lady of Calvary Cemetery in Dieppe. In memory of Marcel, a contribution to a charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated.
