With heavy yet joyous hearts we saw our mother return to her creator. Born in Saint-Louis-de-Kent, she was the daughter of the late Norbert and Séraphie (Guimond) Gallant.

She had been gifted in life with cherished children: Denise Olsen (Doug), Georgette Thomson (Leonard), Michel "Mike" Richard (Joan); blessed with grandchildren: Vanaissa (Matt), Matthew, Meagan Rose, Denis, Danielle, and Gabrielle, and great-grandchildren: Molly and Jack, whom she loved abundantly. Also many nieces and nephews who will be forever grateful for the history of family stories shared. Mom came from a large family of 12 who are all deceased except for one brother Delphin Gallant (Jean) of Saint John.

Mom enjoyed a long healthy life filled with great faith in the Lord.  A faith she not only taught us but shared with us all every time the opportunity arose.  Her unending hope in the Lord, her peace in knowing He was always walking along beside her, her contagious "joie de vivre", and the abundant love she showered on us were truly the heavenly grace and mercy she felt in her own life.

Although her earthly presence will be missed, her heavenly love and guidance will forever be in our midst.

By request, there will be no visitation.  The funeral mass will be celebrated at St. Bernard’s Roman Catholic Church, 43 Botsford Street, Moncton on Thursday January 23 at 11 am. Interment will be in Saint-Louis-de-Kent parish cemetery. In memory of Marie, a contribution to Hospice SENB (Albert House) or a charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated.  Funeral arrangements are in the professional care of Frenette Funeral and Cremation Centre, Moncton (506-858-1900).
